Dog's Name: Alternator (ALT0925JNSFD)
Estimated Breed: Chihuahua / Rat Terrier mix
Approximate Age: 4 years
Approximate Weight: 10 lbs
Currently Living at: Foster
Adoption Fee: $400
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Say hello to Alternator! Alternator came to us from rural Tennessee where she was rescued from an overcrowded situation where her owners could no longer afford to care for her. She was a wonderful mother to her two puppies (Annie and Axle) and is ready for the next step in her journey - her own furever home. Alternator is a charming, lovable, elegant, compact, playful, nimble little lady whose sweet and curious nature will make her the perfect companion for any lucky person or family. She is a bit shy at first and tends to bark at strangers who have the audacity to come into her house or yard, but once she has decided you are her human(s) she becomes a devoted little shadow whose favorite place is in your lap. She is very good with other dogs and fine with cats (she tries to play with both). She might be a bit too shy and cautious for young children, but older ones are OK. She is housetrained (to outside and to peepads). With her nice small size and totally adorable ears, she'll capture your heart in no time. Are you ready to meet your soon-to-be best friend? Apply today and let Alternator brighten your life!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.org
