My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Little Bit is bonded to Max and they need to be adopted together. They will NOT be adopted out separately.***

Little Bit and Max were surrendered by their owners as the toddler in the home was too much for these boys. Little Bit is said to be a Chihuahua and yorkie mix who is about 5 and a half years old.

Little Bit is potty trained, walks well on a leash and enjoys playing with squeaky toys. Little Bit is a sensitive soul and can be scared by loud noises like fireworks, vacuums or thunder. When he is feeling overwhelmed, he typically will hide in his kennel.

Young kids are too much for Little Bit and he gets anxious and stressed when he is around them. He would do best in an adult only home or with children 16 and over. Little Bit enjoys attention from his favorite people, playing a good game of tug of war, and going on leisurely walks with his family. If you have room in your heart and home to adopt a bonded pair of small boys, apply online today!

Adoption fee for the pair is $400 + $30 microchip fee (each) + tax

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Paws and Claws Humane Society (PCHS) is a non-profit, mostly volunteer organization that rescues and shelters homeless cats and dogs until they can be adopted into their “forever” homes. We want our clients to understand that adopting and animal is a lifetime responsibility and commitment to that animal.

All prospective adopters must show (at the time of adoption) a valid drivers license or other acceptable identification to verify their name, address, and age. Adopters must be 18 yrs of age. Children under the age of 12 years old need to be present at time of viewing shelter cats or dogs.

After submitting an application, there is generally a processing period of 1-3 days in order to complete all pre-adoption checks and paperwork before an adopter may take possession of the animal.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Humane Society is committed to partnering with the community to shelter, protect, and seek adoptive homes for abandoned or lost companion animals.

We have served Southern Minnesota for over 30 years and we are the largest shelter in the 8 surrounding counties that does not limit the length of stay for the animals in its care.

Paws & Claws is funded completely on donations and fundraising events and receives no federal, state, county or city funds. We currently have nearly 900 dues paying members.

Paws & Claws has a community fund to help pay for the spaying and neutering of companion animals for those who cannot afford it.

We give over 40 tours and presentations annually, educating the public [including over 400 children] about proper animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering companion animals to help control the pet population in Southern Minnesota.

We have over 110 families that participate in the Guardian Angel Program [sponsoring animals] each month.

Paws & Claws will take in an injured animal and get the emergency medical care that it requires.

Local veterinarians in and around Rochester help Paws & Claws by providing over 145 free spay or neuters each year.

In a typical year the shelter will facilitate adoptions and provide care for over 600 dogs and cats.
