My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking to welcome a truly big-hearted dog into your life? Then prepare to fall head over paws for Boone, our magnificent St. Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix! This boy is the definition of a "big friendly giant." At over 100 lbs & still gaining, Boone is searching for a family who can handle his impressive size and even bigger capacity for love. Boone came to us very skinny from a rough living situation where he was crated 18-24 hours a day and not being given necessary medical care (or food, for that matter). Fortunately, he is an incredibly resilient dog who has defied the odds stacked against him! Boone is ready to leave his past behind and find his 'fur'ever home, one that will cherish his loving, goofy personality & give him all the love he's always deserved!

More about this shelter

The Rusk County Animal Shelter in Ladysmith, Wi, is a full service shelter, though we do not provide most veterinary services to the public. We shelter, and provide supportive care for stray and un-wanted domestic animals until they can be reunited with their owners, or adopted by new families. We accept surrendered animals when we have space available.
