Cooper is a handsome, fluffy, funny little boy. He'll admit to liking his mini me little sister, and really likes to stand up on your lap to get on eye level with a grin on his face. A little one-on-one cuddling is a real treat. Such a bright spirit, Cooper gets right in on the pirate games with his brothers and sisters (arrrgh, ahoy matey!) and loves to play with crinkle toys and stuffies. He does like to play king of the mountain, the mountain being the person with the coveted lap! These kids have gotten good at using the papers in their nursery room and will be getting outside in a few days to experience the MN outdoors. They haven't met other dogs or cats yet, but have enjoyed the company of adults and children. They love to show off with a good trompin' romp for their audience.
Charlotte is estimated to be 10 weeks old and 7 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested.

We only adopt out animals to homes within 60 miles of the Twin Cities. Our adoption process begins with the return of our pre-adoption form, available on our website. After reviewing your application a meeting is scheduled between you and the pup, sometimes in the fosters home or at a neutral dog friendly place. If any resident dogs are in your home, it is recommended that the pups meet at this time. After the meeting a home visit is scheduled and if everything goes well with the visit the adoption is finalized at that time. A home visit by one of Safe Hands representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pup will be living sometime during the adoption process.

Safe Hands is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. Of great importance to us is to reduce the stray population and need for healthy animal euthanasia through spay/neuter programs, education, and promotion of respect for the furry creatures that share our lives.
We are a small, no-kill, volunteer run organization. All of our dogs listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the dogs' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter.
This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We have a great need for foster homes. If you are interested in providing foster care, and live within an hour of the Twin Cities, please e-mail us
