My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Salt, Pepper, and Sugar! This terrific trio is looking to brighten up your home with their cheerful chatter and funny antics. These three are siblings and have always lived together, so it would be ideal if they could go to their next home all together as well. However, Salt and Pepper do seem more attached to each other than Sugar, so she could potentially go to a home with another budgie who needs a friend. All three are a bit timid of people at first, but they are coming around quickly and will happily play and chatter while you watch them. They will likely take some time and patience to become hand tame.

If you are interested in adding some beautiful budgies to your home, please send in an application!

Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
