My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Buddha! Buddha is the biggest pup in his litter, born on September 5, 2025. Mama Meiko was found as a stray, hiding under a trailer, and gave birth shortly after being rescued. Buddha can be shy at first, but loves to be held and pet once he knows you. He also loves to run, chase toys, and get out all his puppy energy in the play yard. Adopting a puppy may not be the most "zen" experience you can have, but it will certainly be one of the most FUN!

Remember that while puppies are cute, they are also work! Please make sure you are ready for the commitment of adopting a young dog. Puppies become adult dogs and are meant to be loved for their whole life, not just until they grow up. Puppies will need lots of patience to help them learn their best doggy manners, leash-training, and house-training.

Adoption fees are $475 per puppy and include vaccinations, microchip, and eventual neuter surgery at the PAWS clinic on Cave Creek Road in Phoenix. Per our vet, we do not alter puppies until around five months, which helps with hormone development and bone growth. Adopters will sign a contract that you will bring your puppy to the PAWS clinic for neuter surgery, sometime in February 2026. More about this rescue

"Chi Town" is short for "Chihuahua Town," which is our nick-name because we found that the majority of animals we were rescuing happened to be Chihuahuas and literally have a little “town” comprised of Chihuahuas! Chihuahuas are one of the most over-bred dogs in Arizona and unfortunately many end up in need of rescue. However, we are not limited to saving just Chihuahas, we do save other breeds dependent on availability of space. Chi Town also specializes in rescuing dogs who require a little extra TLC and are at risk of euthanasia at county shelters. These dogs may not be doing well for a variety of reasons- fear, fear aggression, anxiety, or a medical issue to name a few. These are the dogs that typically have no other outlet and for which time is of the essence . After our dogs are medically cleared and/or their behavioral issues have improved, they are available for adoption.

Please be aware that we do our very best to answer all questions in a timely manner.

We are always seeking to help promote these special Chihuahuas who are too often overlooked in AZ shelters due to the sheer volume of this breed. Please share and like us on Facebook:
