Meet the Pet
This helps Adopt Korean Rescue - Vancouver with pet care costs.
Meet Sharon (5 yrs, Spayed Female)
Breed: Terrier Mix
Weight: 12 kg
Height: 43 cm (shoulder height)
Rescue Story
Sharon was rescued from a city shelter at risk of euthanasia in late July.
She moved to her foster home in November and has been thriving ever since.
Human Socialization
Sharon is affectionate, friendly, and loves human attention.
She approaches both familiar people and strangers to lean in, ask for pets, and even shows her belly to people she meets for the first time.
She may initially refuse treats from strangers but warms up quickly.
She has not been tested with children under 13.
She allows being lifted, but she may squeal or become startled if a stranger picks her up too suddenly.
She dislikes being held by unfamiliar people but enjoys physical affection once trust is built.
Dog Socialization
Sharon greets new dogs politely but does not usually engage in play with unfamiliar friends.
She can be shy at first, but after meeting a dog a few times she becomes attached and initiates play.
She is friendly with dogs of all sizes — small, medium, and large.
If another dog challenges her, she avoids conflict and walks away.
She can play well even with high-energy dogs, sometimes acting dramatic but enjoying the interaction.
Cats
She has been living with a cat for one month and they get along very well, offering each other comfort and companionship.
Energy Level
Moderate. She enjoys outdoor activities but settles calmly afterward.
Walks
She sometimes pulls on the leash and prefers stopping frequently to sniff and explore.
She follows people well overall, but is more focused on scents than consistent walking.
Other Behaviors
• No resource guarding toward people or dogs
• Low separation anxiety currently, but may develop in the future
• Drools heavily in the car at first but otherwise rides well
• Outdoor potty trained, but prefers to potty in the yard instead of during walks
• Although she appears very friendly and easygoing, touch around her front paws or being lifted should be introduced slowly
• She absolutely loves people, so a home that can spend plenty of time with her would be ideal
