My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mila! She is a 4‑year‑old Malinois cross who is ready to find her forever home.
This darling girl was surrendered to us when she needed emergency surgery to save her life. She had been through a painful infection and traumatic surgery, so she was very nervous when she first arrived. She has since settled in and shown her true colours - fun, cuddly, and brilliant!
True to her Malinois roots, Mila is happiest when she has a job or activity to do. She loves any activity that challenges her sharp mind and expends some of her boundless energy, whether that's long hikes, agility, obedience practice, or interactive play sessions. Mila is very well trained, knows several commands and tricks, and will often sit and wait even when she is bubbling with excitement! Exercise, and plenty of it, preferably side by side with her guardian, is paramount to her happiness. Daily games of fetch will keep this girl very content.
Mila is a loving companion, so she struggles when she is left alone for long periods of time, and will vocalize when she is lonely or excited. She has a high prey drive and enjoys chasing squirrels, but has had friendships with cats in the past given proper introductions. She can be reactive at times but is glad to make dog friends with slow introductions, and she much prefers male dog friends.
Mila is best suited to a highly active home that appreciates her need for both physical exercise and mental stimulation. She would thrive with adopters who enjoy outdoor adventures, structured training, and spending quality time with their dog. In return, Mila offers unwavering loyalty, a playful spirit, and the joy of watching a brilliant, sensitive dog flourish.
