Their adoption process
We will not rehome an animal that has not been sterilized and fully vaccinated prior to adoption. Kittens are not made available for adoption until at least 16 weeks of age.
Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- Our pre-adoption application is used to evaluate the home environment and adopter to ensure the best placement for our animals.
- Meet the Pet
- We prefer our animals meet potential adopters one-on-one within our facility to reduce stress and anxiety for the best possible outcome.
- Approve Application
- Approval contingent upon application review, meeting/interacting with pet, and family interview with staff.
- Sign Adoption Contract
- Adopter must agree to contact and return the animal to our organization should rehoming/surrendering become necessary.
- Pay Fee
- Our adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies and spay/neutering.
- Take the Pet Home
- Adopter must bring and provide a proper carrier to transport the animal home. Two days of dry kibble is provided.

Loving Hearts Animal Society is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) no-kill animal rescue organization focused on providing shelter and care for lost, abused and abandoned cats and dogs in East and Southeast Texas.
