My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brewer! 🍻 (He can’t fetch you a beer - but he will steal your heart.) 🍻

Breed: Black Labrador (Mix)
Age: 13 months
Size: Medium
Personality: Goofy, Snuggly, Silly, Loyal, Gentle, Sweet
Brewer’s story started even before he was born — when his pregnant mama was rescued from the streets by a kindhearted family who gave her a safe, warm place to have her puppies. Brewer came into the world alongside 11 brothers and sisters! With such a big family, the puppies were lovingly placed with different foster families when they were old enough to start exploring life on their own. Now at 8 months old, Brewer has blossomed into a playful, affectionate, and goofy guy who’s guaranteed to keep you smiling.

Brewer is an enthusiastic, floppy-eared optimist who is in that sweet spot of puppy energy meets growing-up wisdom — which means he’s just as happy chasing a tennis ball as he is curling up beside you to binge-watch animal documentaries (or shows with snacks). Brewer has the soul of a class clown and the heart of a snugglebug. He’s equal parts playful pup and loyal sidekick. Brewer loves his daily walks and is a total gentleman on the leash (unless a rogue squirrel dares to cross his path).

Like any self-respecting young pup, he’s a huge fan of chase-and-be-chased games with his doggie friends and loves joining in on backyard zoomies.

Some of Brewer's favorite hobbies include:

Long walks (sniffing every interesting scent along the way)
Chasing his ball (and occasionally forgetting what he was doing)
Wrestling and playing chase with his doggy friends
Soaking up belly rubs and massages like the pampered pup he was born to be

SKILLS: Brewer is crate-trained, house-trained, walks well on a leash, and knows “sit” and “shake” like a pro.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Expert tail-wagger (seriously, it’s like a metronome of happiness); Can hear a treat bag open from three rooms away; Professional couch snuggler in training
At bedtime, Brewer turns into a total snugglebug and will happily sleep right on top of you if you’ll let him.
Good with other dogs? Absolutely!
Cats? He’ll playfully chase them if they run, but it’s all in harmless fun — never aggressive.
Kids? He hasn’t met many, but his gentle, shy nature makes us think he’d warm up with time.

Brewer gets along with other friendly dogs, and is perfecting his leash manners (he’s 90% good boy, 10% “ooh squirrel!”).

Bonus Fact: He has one ear that sometimes flips inside out for no reason — and it’s honestly the cutest thing you’ll see all day.

Quirks: He can be a little shy at first; and loud, unfamiliar noises make him nervous. But give him just a little time to investigate the sound (and a treat or two) and his silly, lovable personality shines through.

Ideal Home: Brewer would thrive in a home with another playful dog or an active family who loves walks, yard time, and cozy cuddles.

Ready to adopt this lovable goofball? Brewer is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and ready to move into his forever home 🏡AARF Houston transports to approved adopters outside of Texas.
