Elvis is a 10-year-old Maltese–Poodle mix weighing 14 pounds. He’s a gentle, affectionate boy with an easygoing personality who truly enjoys the comforts of home. Elvis loves being close to his people and is happiest lounging nearby—especially on a cozy couch.
Juliette is an 11-year-old Chihuahua weighing 10 pounds. True to her breed, she may need a moment to warm up, but once she does, she’s loving and loyal. Having Elvis by her side gives her confidence and comfort.
Both dogs came to us through an owner surrender and are healthy, well-adjusted, and very bonded. They do well with other dogs and would thrive in a calm, loving home that understands the joy of senior companions.
Their dream home? One where they can nap on couches, soak up affection, and be spoiled all day long—together, just as they’ve always been.

HART’s board is comprised of Houston-area people who have long been active in dog rescue, and who want to make a difference in outcomes for stray dogs and those surrendered to local shelters. We are a kennel-based system built on a beautiful property in Tomball, Texas.
Rescued dogs are fully vetted and, when ready, adopted out on-site at the facility, or through meetings with fosters. HART also coordinates with shelters in the northern U.S. to find homes for dogs that aren’t adopted locally. Additionally, HART provides information, education and community advocacy to improve animal welfare, via adoption and fundraising events, visits to schools, and through social media. We are working with a dedicated group of volunteers to reaffirm that Houston has a terrific HART.
