My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Elbert!
This sweet little guy is the total package: loving, gentle, playful, and an absolute pro at cuddling.

Elbert is doing well with housebreaking and settles beautifully into the home. He’s not super treat-motivated yet; instead, he lights up with praise and encouragement, always eager to make his people happy. He’s incredibly well-behaved, non-destructive, and picks up corrections quickly. He already knows how to sit, and he can fall asleep literally anywhere.

Elbert adores people and wants nothing more than to be by your side, or better yet, in your lap. His foster family says he’s the best cuddler they’ve ever met. If you lie down next to him, he’ll tuck his little head into your neck or chest and melt right into you. Everyone who meets him gushes about how sweet, gentle, and full of love he is.

He’s fantastic with kids (ages 13, 16, and 18 in his foster home). He lets them carry him around, cuddle him endlessly, and happily chases them around when they play. He’s also great with other dogs, including the resident 12-year-old pug, Elbert plays politely and knows when to back away.

He sleeps through the night, enjoys his stuffed chew toy, and gets adorable zoomies after meals. He’s a grazer with his food, tiny in size, and a very quiet sleeper.

He’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime sweethearts who wins over every single person he meets.
If you're looking for a snuggly lap dog, Elbert is your guy.

Whoever adopts Elbert is truly getting a treasure. He is precious, he is gentle, and he is ready to pour all his love into his forever family.

Adopting from HEA

FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS:
Adoption is a huge deal to us. We make a lifetime guarantee to our companions. In return, we’re asking you to provide a lifetime commitment once you’ve invited a pet to join your family. We’re excited that you're considering adoption. We look forward to working with you to find the right match!

TIMELINE:
Our primary objective is to assure the correct match for the people and the pets that we’re sending to their forever homes. Our goal is to send dogs and cats home as quickly as we can, while still being thorough. Processing times will vary and are largely dependent on our ability to connect with your references, landlord, and veterinarian. To keep the process moving along, please make sure you’ve done your part:
1) Fill out your application completely - missing information slows down the process.
2) Let your references know to expect our call.
3) If you rent, let your landlord know to expect our call.
4) If you currently have pets, ask your veterinarian to be prepared to release your records.

LIFETIME GUARANTEE:
We make a pact with every animal that enters our care: They’re promised a loving home for the rest of their life. In turn, when you make the commitment to adopt, we ask you to make a lifetime commitment. We believe family is forever.
