My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jon — Ponch’s loyal sidekick and the other half of this adorable little duo! 🐾💙

Jon came to us as a stray alongside his best buddy, Poncherello, and from day one he’s been an absolute sweetheart. We think Jon may also be a Maltese–Cairn Terrier mix, and we estimate he’s about two years old — young, fun, and ready for a fresh start.

Jon is incredibly sweet, playful, and social. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and loves affection just as much as his buddy Ponch. With his gentle heart, bright personality, and easy-going nature, Jon warms up quickly and is always happy to be near his people.

Like Ponch, Jon arrived with severe matting and needed a full buzz cut to make him comfortable again. Scroll through his photos and you’ll see what he looks like with longer fur — he’s a fluffy little cutie!

If you’re looking for a loving, friendly companion who’s eager to be part of a forever family, Jon is your guy. 💛✨

Come meet him — he’s even sweeter in person!

More about this rescue

The mission of the Raise the Bar-N Foundation is to rescue, care for, and provide compassion to abused and neglected animals, educate the community about responsible pet ownership, and provide opportunities to children and adults with disabilities. We strive to give the voiceless a voice.

My husband and I have been rescuing for years. We also do a great deal with the autism/special needs community. We are hoping to save more animals and help build bonds between animals and children with disabilities. My husband is a firefighter and ex-professional hockey player. I am an expert working with children with disabilities, especially autism. I am passionate about giving the voiceless a "voice".
