My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Frankie, the sweet Aussie mix who’s learning the world isn’t such a scary place after all. 💛🐾

This handsome boy may be shy at first, but give him just a little patience and kindness and you’ll see his tail start wagging and his personality shine through. Every day, Frankie gets braver — and it’s been such a joy to watch him blossom.

Frankie LOVES having doggy friends to show him the ropes, and he truly thrives with a gentle buddy by his side. Playtime in the yard, sniffing adventures, and quiet companionship are totally his vibe. Because he’s still working on confidence, a secure fenced yard will be important as he settles in and learns to trust his new people.

Frankie is ready for a home that celebrates the small victories, understands his heart, and can’t wait to see him grow into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be. 💙

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
