My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hunson needs lots of room to run and possibly work. He is a working breed that is truly happy when he is busy. He is a 1-2 person dog. If your family is bigger than that, he will pick his favorites and not listen to anyone else.

For this reason, he’s a great dog but not the right fit for us, even after lots of training.

Housetraining: A+ —he has never had an accident indoors!

Manners: A —he mostly is a great listener. We can have the back door open and he will not come in unless we say “break.” He will not get in the furniture. He comes when we call him.

Commands: He knows sit, stay, heel, break, and also a few commands we made up, like “fix it” where he lifts his paw if it gets tangled in the leash, and “over” where he will get over the white line when a car is coming.

Leash: this is still a work in progress. He still pulls like crazy, even with a pinch collar. I can run with him without him pulling me off my feet though.

Fence: he does not jump the fence or try to get out.
