Another transport of puppy mill discards has arrived. These 5 females are used up as breeders and no longer needed. Fortunately for them, an angel of mercy rescued them and now they are Rawhide dogs. Some of them were in deplorable shape and will need extensive veterinary care and lots of TLC so that they can recuperate, physically and emotionally.

This is Emma, named after a super-sized model. Emma is indeed overweight, but we think she is gorgeous. The pictures show how sad and depressed Emma was when she arrived. She would barely move and her head was drooping. Only one bath and 2 days later and she's a different dog; happy, outgoing, good on the leash, social with all the other dogs and wonderful with people. Of course, she adores the puppies as they remind her of her many litters in the puppymill. Emma is now on a diet and will soon be spayed, have her teeth cleaned and her badly infected ear attended to.

Her foster mom just loves this sweet and calm girl that now wags her tail and comes bopping along when out for a walk.

If you understand the challenges with adopting and loving a puppymill dog, you would really miss out if you don't meet Emma.

Check the events page on our website for more information and directions to our adoption events.
