This helps Mile High Labrador Retriever Mission with pet care costs.
Please go to our website at www.milehighlabmission.com to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application.
Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website.
We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run.
We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have.
Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.
General Notes | Comet is a playful black Lab mix puppy heading to Colorado for the holidays! He promises he's a very good "Rein-dog" (reindeer!) who's searching for a loving family to celebrate Christmas with. Comet is ready to bring holiday cheer, endless cuddles, and plenty of festive wags to his forever home. Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.
Personality | Comet is a mellow, toy-loving pup who still enjoys jumping into the wrestling ring when his brothers invite him. He’s full of normal puppy energy, but nothing grabs his attention quite like a toy he can shake and pounce on. And once he’s done, he’s right back to his favorite hobby: napping.
Story | They came from an oops litter in College Station, TX. Their mama is a gorgeous silver lab and we aren't sure who dad is.
Dogs | He adores the grown dog in his foster home and follows her everywhere, soaking up everything she does.
Cats | Comet is doing great with the cats in his foster home due to his wonderful demeanor and young age.
Children | Would love kiddos who will play, snuggle, and give ALL the kisses!
Training | In progress! All these babies are working on potty training, crate training, and sleeping through the night.
Leash | Too little to leash walk, but will learn with time! Our rescue follows “No Paws on the Ground" (NPOG) as a safety protocol for young puppies, primarily used by veterinarians, shelters, and rescues. It means that an unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppy should never be allowed to put their feet on the ground in any public or communal area where other dogs or animals may have been. These babies love to play in secure yards, and be snuggled and held on family walks.
Activity Level | Moderate/high. Typical puppy who loves to nap, play, repeat!
Health Notes | Healthy and happy!
Thank you! |
Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).
Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process.
Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption.
We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
