Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Named after his Louisiana roots, Cajun may sound spicy… but this pup is more “gumbo-simmering-on-a-Sunday” than “hot sauce on your jambalaya.” Calm, even-keeled, and gentle as can be, he’s one of the most easygoing puppies you’ll ever meet.
Cajun loves to play—whether it’s batting around toys or wrestling with dogs of all sizes—but compared to other pups his age, he’s downright chill. He’s an inquisitive little explorer who may quietly slip away to check out new sights and smells. When it comes to meeting new people, he takes the slow-and-sweet approach: a moment to feel out the situation, a curious sniff, and before long he’s curled up right beside you.
This boy adores affection. Soft pets are his love language, and he’ll gladly soak up gentle strokes for as long as you’re willing to give them. In return, he offers quiet companionship and a tender heart.
Cajun does wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids. He’d enjoy having a canine buddy to help show him the ropes, but it’s not a must—he’s adaptable and learns quickly. He’s crate-trained, well on his way with potty training, and already working on those basic puppy manners with impressive smarts.
If your family is searching for a lovable, calm, and gentle pup—with the cutest little ears and a whole lot of Louisiana charm—Cajun just might be the perfect addition to your pack.

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
