My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

As Wellies and Weston's foster parent, I’m pleased to introduce you to this lovely, bonded pair. When they first came to me, they hissed and were scared, hiding the minute they were out of their crate. Now, something they both enjoy is exploring their new space and finding places to hide. You’ll oftentimes find them cuddled up together under a couch or in a bed. They are a cute bonded pair that melts the heart.

Weston is as fluffy as he is wonderful: he’s grown to want company of humans and cats alike. Wellies, while a little bit more nervous, is still working to find his footing but with the right home and support this little girl's personality will blossom. Both cats adore my resident 5 year old Cat Cafe Alumni! The trio have started having snuggle fests on the window perch. And if you’re lucky you’ll see them playing together as a group.

Likes: Wellies loves to be picked up and cuddled. Weston likes zoomies, playing and chasing around my cat.

This pair would work well for a house with other cats and/or a space with patient humans to continue to draw out their silliness and cuddles.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
