My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Riley!

Riley is a 2-year-old, 55 lb Cattle Dog/Lab mix with a heart full of love and a spirit that shines through her special needs. She experiences seizures, and may have hearing challenges. Despite it all, Riley is active, friendly, and incredibly affectionate. She loves walks, cuddle time, and sticking close to her people.

Riley is a silly, sleepy, lazy, happy, and loving girl. She’s food-motivated (frozen peanut butter Kongs = pure joy!), loves running happy circles in the yard or dog park, and adores dogs, cats, kids—pretty much everyone. She’s a sucker for chest scratches and cuddling under blankets.

She may be cross-eyed, she may be deaf, she may hate baths and swimming, but she’s a wonderfully quirky girl who brings so much love. Once Riley finds her “spot,” she sticks to it forever.

Riley needs a fenced-in yard and a patient adopter willing to continue training a deaf dog. In return, she’ll give you endless love, loyalty, and joy.

If you’re looking for a truly special companion—Riley is your girl. To apply to adopt Riley go to www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application on a laptop or computer.

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
