Name: Marie
Breed: Golden Retriever
DOB: 5/18/2021
Weight: 55lb
Sex: Female (Spayed & dental)
Marie is a 4-year-old Golden Retriever with a heart as tender as her golden coat. After spending her early years as a puppy-mill mom, she’s finally learning what it means to live in a quiet, safe home where people move gently, speak kindly, and give her the time she needs to bloom.
Her Personality
Marie is deeply timid and shy, but there’s a softness in her eyes that shows she wants to trust. Every day, she becomes just a little bit braver—taking treats from your hand, following you from room to room, or watching the world from a cozy corner. She’s never pushy or loud; instead, she brings a calm, peaceful presence to the home.
What She Needs to Thrive
Marie’s perfect home will understand that healing takes time. She will do best with:
• A calm, predictable environment
• Children 10+ only, who can be patient and gentle
• Another well-mannered dog to show her the ropes and help her feel safe-no exceptions!
• A securely fenced yard — no exceptions — as she’s still learning confidence and needs a safe place to decompress and explore
In the Home
She learns routines slowly but steadily, and having a dog companion gives her courage. She enjoys observing the world quietly and settles beautifully once she feels secure. She’ll never demand attention, but when she chooses to trust you, her affection feels incredibly special. She is working hard with the leash but it is still scary. She is mostly potty trained when kept on a good schedule. A crate is not needed for her…she thrives with freedom not confinement.
