My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Callisto likes to play, but also like to sit in your lap and be pet (under the chin please, her favorite spot!). At first she will be shy and likely need to be picked up and placed in your lap until she gets to know you. Once she trusts you, Callisto will rub on your hand to elicit petting. She gets nervous with fast movements coming towards her, loud noises, or too much chaos. For this reason she will be best in a home with no small kids and a bit of a lower active household. Treats? Yes please! She lovvvves her treats and canned food. If looking for a pair, Callisto is good to be paired with her mom Xena whom she loves, and also does well with her older brother Scrump. She does enjoy their company and cuddling up next to either one of them for some kitty companionship. Callisto would do fine as an only pet provided she get enough love and attention.

More about this rescue

We have created a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to eliminating cruelty, abuse and the overpopulation of animals. The Humane Society is committed to creating the awareness of animal rights throughout the Romeoville community by providing numerous animal welfare programs, including pet adoptions, humane education and cruelty investigations. ALL animals available for adoption are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, fecal tested, fiv/felv tested (cats only), heartworm tested (dogs only) and microchipped. It is the policy of the Romeoville Humane Society to spay or neuter all animals in its care in an effort to reduce the homeless pet population.
