My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What do you call a hopeful bunny lookin' for a home?
A hop-timist of course! And her name is Rolo.

Are you looking for a roommate that will never pay rent and will eat all your lettuce? You found her. Will she judge your life choices and tinder dates from across the room? Definitely. Will she still be your best friend for life? Yup.

Rolo is like most of us ladies: she needs you to be patient and earn her trust before she shows you her whimsical personality. She's intelligent and loves to chill, loud places aren't her vibe (so relatable). She's not a hugger or cuddler, she's much too cool for that. Rolo wants you to hang out with her while you pretend to get work done on your laptop, and tell her about your day. She's the perfect date to have a salad with. Her big velvet ears? Well that's where she keeps all of her secrets (and yours)- all part of her mysterious lore. She's a beautiful reminder of nature that wants to be part of your home, and what's more majestic than that?

If you've been looking for a sign to adopt a bunny, this is it. Meet your new friend, she's been waiting for ya.

We'll ask about your indoor setup for Rolo, a place that she can thrive. We can help with tips and tricks for success*

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
