Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Sprite I came from Southeast Idaho; I’m a cattle dog/aussie mix. My two siblings and I were dropped off at a 3-5 day kill shelter. Luckily, someone from Waggin Tails Rescue saved us and put us in foster care; now I’m living with my foster mom and her 12yr old daughter. When I first got to their house I didn’t know about houses, cars, or cities. I didn’t have manners or know commands. I’m doing quite well now and K and her kiddo are teaching me how to be a lady. I like living here since I have a yard so I can watch the neighborhood and play with the squirrels. I have a comfy bed. There are parts of the home that I’m not allowed in, but I don’t think about them much. I would however really love a family all of my very own.
There is a small animal that comes around now and then that I now know is a cat and I know I’m supposed to be nice. I really want a good smell, but the cat keeps hitting me, I would probably prefer not to live with another cat, but another dog would be GREAT.
My favorite thing is to out on my leash; I like to go REALLY fast! Lots of times I get to run along the bike and we go to parks, meet other dogs, practice new and old commands, smell everything (lots of geese around here) and then run home. I like to play fetch and go to the river. There are two pieces of furniture that I can sit on. I like to sit in my chair and look out the window. Sometimes I put my toys on the windowsill. I love fuzzy, squeaky toys or bones the best.
I’ve met lots of kids. I run to school every morning with my foster mom and her daughter. There are lots of children there. I recently, I hung out with a 4yr old boy and newborn baby, two 6month old babies and a 2yr old. I know that you have to be soft and mellow with kids. It did hurt my feelings when my tail and feet were pulled on and my nose was squeezed, but I just went and hid.
Anyone who wants to be my new family will need to know that I like to run and learn new things and feel important by protecting my people at night. I don’t like to be put in a crate or tied up. I’ve heard people say that I’m really smart. I pay attention and want to make people happy. I’d rather have a hug than a treat
I hope someone out there can give me exercise, toys, love, patience and someone to teach and show me new things. If you do I promise to love you, give you kisses and make you very proud of me!
