Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sally Mae was recently returned after 2.5 years in her home. Unfortunately, she never warmed up to her owner. :( We don't understand it, as it seemed like the ideal home for our girl, but we are ready to try again! We are looking for a foster, foster to adopt, or adoptive home for our girl!
Sally is a sweet girl with just a touch of sass! She can be shy and wants to take things slow. She will do better in a less chaotic home and will likely do better without children in the home. At her foster's house she does great with her and loves to be pet and loved on (with some limits) but she is currently in a small catio enclosure and doesn't feel she needs to hide to be safe. Her new home must be willing to give her time to warm up and work with her to let her know she is safe. Her ideal home would be one where she could start in a smaller room...even a bathroom, where she could get to know you and get used to you feeding her and being affectionate with her. She doesn't love to be picked up, but just loves to be pet and will purr and rub all over you! She loves to play with her toys and loves those 3 tier ball spinners and little mice!
Sally may do ok with other calm cats (who will mostly let her be) and possibly even a calm dog. Currently she is exposed to other cats through her enclosure and doesn't seem to mind them as long as they don't hiss and hit at her. She is also exposed to a hyper/barky dog, who she doesn't love unless the dog is being calmer. Then she will stay out of her hidey box to watch her. Slow intros with other animals will be essential.
Are you the person that Sally can bond with??
