My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jojo is a beautiful black and white “cow” cat who will be turning 3 years old this April. She also has adorable little thumbs, which makes her extra special. Jojo is a very quiet, reserved girl who tends to be on the shy side. She rarely meows and prefers a calm, peaceful environment where she can feel safe.

She can be affectionate and cuddly, but always on her own terms. When Jojo chooses to come sit with you, it’s a very sweet moment. She is good at communicating her boundaries and will let you know with a hiss or growl if she needs space, so she does best with someone who respects her independence and understands cat body language.

Jojo isn’t a very playful cat most of the time, but she does enjoy catnip toys when she’s in the mood. She absolutely loves Churu treats and tuna, and one of her favorite activities is birdwatching from a window or relaxing in a safe, enclosed patio space. If you have a secure patio or screened area, she loves curling up outside and falling asleep in the fresh air.

She does not enjoy having her nails clipped, but with patience, gentleness, and time she can be coaxed through it. Jojo is a sensitive and anxious girl, so she needs to be in a quiet home with no other pets, where she can feel relaxed and secure.

With the right person, Jojo will be a loyal, gentle companion who enjoys peaceful moments, cozy naps, and the occasional cuddle when she decides it’s time.

Jojo is in Chesed's Direct from Owner Program, meaning she is not currently in rescue and will be adopted directly from her owner.  Chesed will accept all applications, background check and vet check them and pass appropriate candidates on to her current owner.  There will be no adoption fees, though a donation to Chesed Rescue is always appreciated.

More about this rescue

Chesed Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted animals. “Chesed” is often translated as “loving kindness”. Acts qualify as “chesed” when they are motivated by a spirit of generosity, not obligation.

Chesed is a small rescue, where we get to know each animal as an individual. Our placements focus on not just finding excellent homes, but excellent homes that are the right fit for each pet. Our adoption criteria is strict. We work hard to get these pets to safety, we donate many hours to their care, and will not settle for anything less that a great home for their future.

All of our pets are in foster homes, where they get used to being a loved house pet. If you are interested in saving lives and getting fuzzy snuggles, please apply to foster at www.chesed-rescue.org/fostering.

In addition to our adoption and education programs, we manage the Kobi center, which provides those less fortunate or those on a fixed income with necessary pet supplies, food and medications.
