Adoption steps
- Submit ApplicationThis can be found on our website, but you are welcome to stop in and fill one out as well!
- Visit the Facility and Find a PetIf you own other dogs, you may bring them with you to ensure they will get along with the dog you're interested in.
- Home CheckA short video showing the inside of your home & property will be needed in order to determine that the home is suitable for the dog.
- Approve ApplicationAll dogs are required to be licensed in your town before being adopted out. The information to do this will be provided by LCSO Dog Control.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office Dog Control is stationed in Mount Morris NY. We are an emergency service that handles strays, animal cruelty cases, and surrenders, just to name a few. Our number one goal is to rehome the dogs we rescue to their forever homes.
