Abbott has progressed by leaps and bounds since moving to a foster home on October 5th. He had lived at the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina since he and his brother were rescued as strays when they were 12-week old puppies.
Abbott would rather have attention than treats. He will thrive in a home with one or two mannerly dogs who would appreciate (or be tolerant of) his active puppy play style. He is still a little mouthy (like retrievers and collies), but does not bite or behave aggressively.
If you are looking for a smart, beautiful, low-maintenance pet companion who will gladly listen to your stories, make arrangements to meet Abbott today. He is currently in a foster home, so please contact the Humane Society at 252-413-7247 or via email at hsec@embarqmail.com to schedule a time to meet Abbott.
All dogs at the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and on heartworm and flea prevention. All dogs 6 months or older are tested for heartworms. Adoptions come with a small bag of Hill's Science Diet food and a free one month trial of pet health insurance.
