Catz Jazz Rescue assists as many unfortunate & abandoned cats as possible, while advocating the message of compassion towards animals and responsible pet ownership. Catz Jazz strives to be one of the best Austin cat rescue operations by providing comfort & care for each and every animal coming into our rescue with consideration of their individual situations. Our goal is to find life-long companions for the rescued cats in our care.
Read about Collin: Collin was rescued from horrendous conditions from a pathetic excuse of a breeder.
This young Maine Coon has suffered quite a bit in his young life and subsequently has a bit of anxiety around other felines. We can only surmise that he was probably kept in a state of fear, submission and overcrowdedness by his breeder which has led to his uncertainty with other cats, though Collin is a very sweet cat, as are most Maine Coons, (one of the endearing traits of this breed) and loves people that show kindness toward him.
Even though Collin is so sweet and loving with his humans and a total delight to be around, he will probably be best as the only cat in home as he now tends towards the alpha persona. This may be due to the fact that he was low man on the totem pole when we rescued him from the breeder. Of course, we can't blame Collin for having these social issues, this is just another example of how breeding for profit is selfish and causes much suffering along the way and far after the greedy breeder has gotten what she wants out of the cat and then leaving him to face an uncertain fate now that he has developed quirks from living in deplorable conditions.
We won't give up on Collin; we know that the right person and forever home is out there for him and will appreciate what a loving cat he is. This orange with white tabby Maine Coon boy is approximately 3 years of age as of this posting and is fully vetted.

This SATURDAY & SUNDAY @ Lakeline PETsMART 11066 Pecan Park Blvd. Cedar Park, TX 78613 Please Follow Catz Jazz! Thank you for supporting us! All donations are tax-exempt. We are a registered 501(c) (3) charity recognized by the IRS. | Donate a Kuranda cat bed If you can't adopt Collin, would you consider donating a Kuranda cat bed to him while he waits for his forever person to find him? Our rescued cats love to sleep on Kuranda cat beds because of their orthopedic comfort and we love them because they are stackable, allowing high perches for shy cats while increasing the amount of floor space, but due to our already constricted operating budget, we just don't have enough for everyone to sleep on. When you donate a Kuranda cat bed to us, you will give an Austin rescue cat a place to sleep in comfort and have a bed to dream on while they patiently wait for their forever home. We also gratefully accept donations of much-needed items from our Catz Jazz Wish List. Thank you so much for helping us out. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. |
A husband, father, brother, friend, and neighbor who lives in our community, is in dire need of our immediate help! At the beginning of July 2010, Chris Blankinship, a trusted and caring volunteer with Catz Jazz Rescue, was diagnosed with an Anaplastic Astrocytoma (grade III). This is a rare (about 4% of the population), life-threatening, rapidly-growing, malignant tumor. Due to the nature of this specific tumor and it's location, the only available treatment possibilities are very limited clinical trials (experimental treatments) for chemo and radiation treatment possibilities that will easily exceed the tens of thousands of dollars mark. We believe that with prayers, positive energy and strong willpower, and the financial help from compassionate supporters who are sympathetic to his plight, we can give Chris a chance to opt for those treatment possibilities, but time is of the essence! Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is so greatly appreciated by his friends and family. We humbly ask for your support. Can you please help? Click here to Read Chris's story. |
