My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 03/19/2011: Mila is a loving 10 lb 2 year old yorkie mix (maybe daschund-yorkie?) who is being fostered in Miami, FL. She is intensely passionate about her owner (she LOVES her person) and would prefer to be the only doggie in the home so she has all the love to herself. She gets along ok with other dogs but just doesn't want to live with them.

Mila is in the middle of her heartworm treatment and has her final two (and most dangerous) injections next week. After that, she is going to have to be crated for a month to keep her from running or jumping so that the worms in her heart break off slowly and not all at once (which could cause a fatal embolism in her lungs). Mila is sweet and housetrained, and loves to go for walks (though short potty breaks for now). She lacks confidence and appears that she may have been abused in the past. She slinks away when voices are raised or quick movements happen around her. She appears to think she is going to be hit. It is so sad. That said, she is putty in your hands. You can kiss her, hug her, love on her, etc. and she has never shown aggression AT ALL to her person. Because she appears to want a quieter home, no kids please. Thanks for reading about Mila.

UPDATED BIO 03/02/2011: Mila is a gorgeous 10 lb 2 year old yorkie mix who is being fostered in Miami, FL. Mila is in the middle of heartworm treatment and has already received one injection (which went well, thank goodness!). Mila is a timid little girl who loves her owner intensely, yet is frightened by loud noises and quick movements. She loves to go for walks, and she tolerates other dogs (even plays sometimes), but deep down, it seems evident that Mila would like to be your number one girlie.

Mila is housetrained and doesn't bark much. She loves to hide her treats and take naps in your arms. She cuddles next to FM at night and gives lots of kisses. Mila's ideal home would be a quieter home (she really doesn't like loud noises) where she can gain confidence and learn what it is like to be loved like a furry yorkie-princess should :). Mila's 2nd and 3rd injections will be taking place in the next 2 weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for this little girl that she has an uneventful course and comes through with flying colors!

INITIAL BIO 2/3/2011: Mila is a sweet 2 year old 10 lb yorkie mix who was rescued from a high kill shelter. She is being fostered in Miami, FL. Sadly, Mila's previous owners neglected to spend the $5 per month it costs to keep her from contracting the terrible disease, heartworm. Mila is now heartworm positive. She will have to endure 4 months of confinement, medication to lessen her heartworm load, and finally, injections that can be deadly.

Mila is a lover. She just wants to be close to you, give you kisses, and lay on her back for you to rub her tummy. She is learning to walk on a leash and tolerates other dogs, but she would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She just loves attention and affection and seems to get jealous if another dog is with HER mommy or daddy.he hasn't had a single accident in the home yet, and hasn't made a peep (yet). She is such a sweet little princess. When FM picked her up from the high kill shelter, she promised that she would find Mila the most wonderful FURever home she could ever DREAM of! Can you help make her dreams a reality?
