My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we first met Kendall, we couldn't believe how beautiful this little dog is. He really is one gorgious guy. Kendall has silky medium-to-long fur that is a muted brindle color. You definitely don't see this type of fancy coloring every day. Kendall is our one-of-a-kind "couture" dog. Of course, Kendall doesn't understand what all the fuss is about...all these women swooning over him and everything. This boy has a carefree, happy demeanor that is quite endearing. Kendall is a love-hound. He likes to cuddle and be petted. He is gentle around other dogs...playful and friendly, but not at all hyper. Kendall is obviously so happy to be rescued from the city shelter we found him in. What we know about Kendall's history is limited. He had been adopted from a rescue group as a puppy a few years ago. (He is now about 3). We are taking a complete guess as to Kendall's breed mix. Basically, your guess is as good as ours. His back is a little bit elongated, but not as much so as a Doxie. His legs are longer than a Doxie's. He also has the cutest, fuzziest, "Flying Nun" ears. Kendall weighs about 15 lbs. His former family included a 4-year-old child (who Kendall was very gentle with). Even though he was a good boy and well-behaved in his former home, Kendall's family relinquished him to a city shelter because they were moving. This sweet little dog was terrified and heartbroken after being given up by the only family he had ever known, plus he was left in this scary place all by himself. The cold, hard reality is that terrified dogs in shelters have a very tough time getting adopted. People aren't interested in WHY the dog is terrified, only that he is. When we arrived at the shelter to interact with Kendall a little bit, the minute we walked him out of his kennel, he was a new dog. We walked him outside for a little fresh air and he was back to himself again. Kendall was an absolute love, tail wagging, giving kisses and ready to go home with his foster mom. This precious boy just needs a family who he can trust and who will give him a permanent, loving home. Our $175 adoption fee helps cover the cost of Kendall's neuter, shots, vet exam, worming and heartworm test (which was negative). Kendall is also on monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick control. This very special little dog has been a delightful houseguest in his foster home. He is kennel-trained and we are working with him on his housetraining. (Belly bands work like a charm on male dogs!) **Applicants for Kendall must have a verifiable history with a vet.** If you are interested in making sweet Kendall a permanent member of your family, please click on this link to access our online application: www.tassieshope.org
