My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tigard,OR
Harriett was turned in to an Idaho shelter by a breeder who had lost their home. Harriett had been living her life in a pen, and was bred repeatedly. Her toenails were so long she could not walk properly. When she and her companion (Crackers) were rescued from the shelter they both had pneumonia. Harriett was afraid of hands and was very shy. She is only three years old, and weighs about 12 pounds. Now fully recovered, Harriett is a happy and affectionate little girl. She has learned to play with toys and has gained a lot of confidence. She really wants to be housebroken, but she just hates rainy, bad weather; she was almost house broken until heavy rainstorms and hail drove her back inside. Harriett's fostermom now takes her outside with an umbrella, and that helps. She is a total lap dog, and follows her fostermom around the house. Both Harriett and Crackers go to their fostermom's office, where they are very well behaved. Everyone loves them and they get a lot of visitors. Harriett gets along very well with all the other dogs at her foster home. She would probably be OK with cats, as she is not aggressive, and was not really interested in the cats at the vet's office. Harriett does like children - unless they are rowdy, and then she goes and hides under her blanket; she's not as brave as Crackers. Harriett is gentle and very sweet. She wants to please and to get along; this is not a "trouble maker". This is a tender little sweetheart who deserves a wonderful family. For more pictures of Harriett please click here.
