My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From Lacy's foster family: Lacy is a gentle soul who bonds closely to her humans. She knows when you need a puppy kiss or when to go lie down and give you your space.

Lacy is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and housetrained. She does fine all day while her foster parents are at work. She is crate trained, but because she is such a good girl she is not crated while we are at home or at night while we sleep. During the day while we are at work she is gated into the kitchen and behaves herself well all day long. She is not a chewer and does not get up on the bed or jump on the furniture. She is not much of a barker, but she will let you know if you have gotten too far away from her. She is a Velcro Springer who loves to be with you wherever you go. She also does not mind having cats around. Lacy has needed to learn that people do not give her food from the table. She now sits like a good girl away from her foster family while they eat their meals.

Lacy is a low-key Springer who is very intelligent and eager to please, especially when treats are involved. She will do almost anything for you if you give her a treat! She will happily greet you at the door when you get home from work, and she loves to go for walks. She is trying to be a good dog on the leash. She still pulls a little bit, but this is mostly because she is so excited about going for a walk. She does settle down and walk nicely next to her foster mom when asked.

Lacy is currently recovering from an ear infection, so her long ears will need to be cleaned on a regular basis to prevent further infections. She lets her foster mom clean her ears without squirming. Lacy is mostly deaf and has been told that if she were a human she would need reading glasses. It is hard for her to see right in front of her, and she tends to trip over things if she does not see them. Because of this, she would prefer a home without stairs and would do great with a fenced-in yard where she could run and play safely.

Lacy qualifies for the Seniors-for-Seniors program. She has a bad ACL that may slow her down as she ages. Right now she walks stiffly on her right hind leg. She certainly does not consider herself a senior, however, and she is determined to enjoy as many things with you as possible. Keeping her trim and making sure that she has daily exercise will help her feel her best.

Lacy is a very sweet dog with a lot of love left to give. Her foster mom and dad will miss her very much when she finds her Forever Home. If you would like to know more about her and find out if you are the right family to get all of Lacy's unconditional love, please contact us.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Lacy.
