Meet Emily! She is a splendid mix of both the rottweiler and doberman breeds. She definitely has the best qualities of both! Emily was found trotting down Route 440 in Staten Island. A kind woman with two children in her car stopped, hoping that Emily was friendly. When they called her, she jumped right in their car and licked their faces! Due to allergies in the family they could not keep her, so poor Emily was dropped off at the shelter.
Emily is about 2.5 years old, 70 lbs, very playful, and great with other dogs. She is also great with cats and kids, but because she is quite large we are looking for a family without toddlers, as she could easily knock them over. Emily knows all her basic commands, and walks well on a leash. She appears to have been born with a little imperfection in her front left leg, making it a bit crooked, but she can still run and play with only the slightest hint of a limp. She loves to "fetch" and chase balls. Her favorite pastimes are flinging plush dog toys in the air and catching them, and trying to sneak up on the couch to lay on her foster mom's lap.
Emily is spayed, up to date on all her shots, housebroken and microchipped. She is very affectionate and lots of fun. Check the events page on our website for more information and directions to meet our dogs.
