My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rajah is such a special dog. She has overcome some physical hardships and become about as perfect a canine companion as is possible. She was born without a right eye in addition to a cleft palate. A veterinarian fixed the palate but without an eye, the only choice at the time was to close up the eye socket. It is a little hard to miss the fact that she has only one eye, but this girl has been this way from puppyhood and she does not even know she is different! It does not slow her down a bit. That's just who she is and she's all the more special for it. Rajah is a gem of a girl who will steal your heart with her sweet, loving disposition. Everyone who meets her instantly falls in love with her.

Rajah is THE most loving Husky you will find, bar none, and she loves all people including kids! She absolutely adores getting lots of snuggle time, including hugs and kisses. She is content to lie next to you receiving her due affection. She is also a talker and loves conversing with you.

Rajah also does very well with other dogs, except she can be a little standoffish on the leash when meeting an unfamiliar dog. NOT aggressive though.

Rajah is the best of both worlds, energetic when it's playtime and mellow when it's down time. She's content to be a couch potato some of the time, if that's your lifestyle, but she definitely enjoys a fun trip to the dog park or a nice long walk for socialization. She's a go with the flow kind of girl. This Husky was MADE for long car trips; she cannot wait to hop in the car and go somewhere, ANYWHERE. Plus, she rides like a dream.

Along with loving people in general, she loves HER people and can get a little anxious when left alone for too long. She would do really well with a companion dog.

Rajah has never been crate trained and does not do well in one, so it is best not to use crates with her. She has good manners though and if not left for extended periods, she will behave very well in the home, no crating is necessary.

Although originally an outdoor dog she has come a long way in the housebreaking department and is learning quickly.

When she arrived at our Rescue, she had heartworms but absolutely no ill effects from her handicap. The heartworm treatment was successful and she is now ready for a forever home.

Rajah is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date with all her shots. Someone is going to be forever grateful for letting this girl into his or her life. That could be you, so fill out an adoption application on our web site, www.siberrescue.com, today.
