My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated 6-20-11
Shyla in her pretty dress got to begin going to adoption outreaches finally. she was in need of knee surgery, and has now had the worst knee repaired. She is walking so much better!!!! After a few months of healing, she will be ready to have the other knee done. The rescue will be paying for this, whether she is still with us, or in her new home.
She has come so far since we have had her. But it still takes a bit of time for her to trust any new people. Within a few minutes she will warm up and cuddle to your neck!
I wish you could have seen her prancing around in her new dress. She knew she was pretty!!!!
It really seemed to give her the confidence she lacked previuosly!!!!

Pictures soon!!
Shayla is a 6 year old, puppy mill survivor, who has spent the majority of her life, living in a cage, being bred every six months. so the breeder could have plenty of cute little puppies to sell.........
Well, guess what, she is now not able to produce those cute little puppies because her body is worn out!
She is reddish fawn and white spotted, and weighs 5 pounds. She is 6 years old. She has been fully vetted, which includes vaccines, spay, heartworm test(neg), teeth cleaning, blood work, wormed, and microchipped.
She has bad knees,( luxating patella's.)She will require surgery to repair them so she can have a normal life, without pain. The rescue is going to do this of course. But its no reason she can not go to her forever home.... she will go to the vet and have the surgery. Then she will most likely hop around for a few weeks. After the first knee is healed enough to support her, the other leg will be done. We usually wait a few months in between surgeries......
This little girl deserves to have a loving family, arms to hold her tight, a soft bed, and good food. We can provide the vet care, etc. but we can not give her the thing she needs most............an abundance of love and attention!
I call it the "promised land", won't you help her find it?????????
Her adoption fee is 150.00
Please note, we do not adopt to families with children under the age of 10 years old. and we do require a securely fenced yard, so if your fence needs repait, please do it previous to applying for our dog.
