This is Tempest. He was named by our volunteer Susah because of the storm he has been thru.
This guy is emaciated but has such a great temperament. Our Animal Rescue Fund will be getting this guy the medical attention he needs and deserve.
We are looking for a foster home for Tempest so he can get healthy in the home environment.
UPDATE:
Tempest is severely heart worm positive. He will be treated for this horrid parasite.
This animal has been severely neglected. He has not been fed for at least 4 weeks possibly longer and has survived by drinking water from puddles.
He is an amazing dog who loves nothing more than laying beside Susah with his head in her lap
He even endured the picking of the ticks which covered his poor emaciated body.
Tempest is amazing.
UPDATE:
Tempest is currently getting his heartworm treatment. Since he is so compromised health wise he is being kept at the vet an extra day, For fostering, this guy will need to be kept SUPER quiet. Which is going to be difficult to do as Tempest is bouncing back amazingly well with a bit of food and the Jaques TLC. HE also needs to be kept as cold as possible due to the heartworm medication. He will not be able to tolerate ANY heat. This is a must for anyone considering fostering.
UPDATE:
Tempest has gained 11 pounds in 2 weeks and is doing so well. He will be having a tail amputation as part of his tail was dead, and bothering him so he bit his tail off.
He will be staring his second round of heart worm treatment June the 30'th.
This dog is amazing and has such an awesome temperament.
UPDATE:
Well, Tempest is now done his heartworm treatment and is ready for adoption.. He is a wonderful guy who now realises that he will never go hungry again and does not eat his food as it is being poured into his bowl. He is house trained and will be neutered when Dr. Deuzeman feels he is ready.He still needs to be in air conditioning for a bit.
He is such a loving dog and we thank Dr. Deuzeman for seeing the potential in Tempest and agreeing to help us with his medical costs...
UPDATE:
Tempest is now ready for his forever loving home. He ha really come out of his shell and is learning to play. He is a great guy with personality plus. HE LOVES his nightly head massages from foster Dad Brad.
Tempest will need to be on monthly heartworm/ flea control for the duration of his long.long life.
I would LOVE to see Tempest in his home SOOOOOOOON.
