My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MISSY IS CURRENTLY ON HOLD

Missy- a wonderful Collie Lady

Missy is a pure bred, spayed female, tri colored, rough Collie.
She just turned 9 years young last month.

Missy's family had her since she was a puppy, but unfortunately they had to move into a small condo in the city that will not allow pets.

Missy is good with cats and other dogs. She walks well on a leash, and she has had some obedience training. She has excellent house manners. And she enjoys riding in a car.

Missy has the true collie temperament. She LOVES everyone, and she loves attention...especially butt scrunches! She loves to be told how beautiful she is, and she eats it up when she is told she is a good girl. She has good recall and does very well in safe off-leash areas with other dogs.

Missy is playful and bouncy and loves to go on walks. Yet she is calm and respectful as well.

Her first family says she loves children. We have not evaluated her with children yet. We were told that she would love a family with children. Adopting her to a home with children will be considered after evaluation. So please apply if you do have kids over 7 years old, and we will take it under consideration.

Missy is pretty much a perfect collie girl...the only real issue she has is that she does not like to be brushed. This is very common in collies actually. She does well for a bath...but the brushing she could do without. Her foster home family is working with her on that, but she will need positive reinforcement until she is comfortable being brushed. So for that reason it would be best if her home has experience with this sort of issue.

Missy would be a great dog for almost any family. She could be an only dog or live with another friendly dog. Missy is looking for a family to love, and she will give back so much love in return.

If you think you have the perfect home, for this almost perfect collie, please fill out our online adoption application on the NorCal Collie Rescue web site http://www.calcollierescue.org/adoptionappl.html or contact Sherry at sherry@calcollierescue.org, 831-359-6903 for information.
