Dakota's Story...
Why is such a darling little girl like myself in a place like this? Well you tell me. I am a great little dog who has fallen into some bad luck. I have just been in the shelters too long! I am ok with other dogs (but I do like to be boss) and I am house trained already. I absolutely adore women but I am not so sure with new men. I guess I am a little too cautious, but being small like I am I have had to be in order to survive in this world, it is not easy for us little guys- this means I will do best in a home without young children. I have short hair and lots of great personality. I am not going to get any bigger, am very smart and well behaved, not too mention CUTE! 2 years old-21lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes; current shots, spay, microchip, 5 week training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam (in the SE Portland/Milwaukie area only), leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Portland Corgi/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Corgi/Dachshund for sale in Portland, or seeking a Corgi/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Corgi/Dachshund breeders who help with Corgi/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
