My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please help us find a home for Daisy.

String of Pearls has been working for a while now with the single worst neglect and abuse case we have yet faced.  Daisy endured unspeakable abuse and had been left to die on a chain when she was finally signed over to Pearls.

Her neglect was complete. She was starving, had given birth to and watched die a litter of pups she could not feed, and was never even touched by a human until one determined Pearls volunteer brought her to us and we began.

At one time, Daisy had no idea what the touch of a human was all about. Now, she is one of the friendliest dogs you’ll ever see.  Daisy is a beautiful, young, strong dog. We think she is a cross between a Rottweiler and a Doberman, and has the best features of both.  She truly loves humans now and cannot wait to be petted and loved.  She can walk quite nicely on a leash, but still has moments where she forgets and tries to tree something!

Her personality can only be described as “hyper.” She has high energy and a desire to work and/or play often. She is an excellent watchdog, and gets along well with male dogs. She has experienced cats, but most likely would chase them. She is a very strong dog.

We truly believe that there is someone out there for Daisy, and we have set our sights on finding this loving dog a forever home of her own. Please join us in this cause. Give some thought to whether you know someone who could give Daisy the love and care that she so desperately wants.

The perfect home for Daisy would have someone who truly understands dog psychology. Daisy needs a strong pack leader and someone who can provide her with ample opportunity for exercise. Someone who likes to go jogging or has a fenced yard where she could run around several times per day would be great.

Daisy is an amazing, funny, and remarkably loving dog that will make someone a fine companion.  Because of her history of abuse, we will place her only with known animal people, and with a family that can meet her exercise needs.  If you think you or someone you know might qualify, please e-mail us and let’s talk. This life has come a very long way. Now let’s see if we can get to the final step.

Daisy would do well in a home without small animals
