I know what your thinking...Leonard...who the heck gave that cute little dog such an odd name like Leonard! Some of my close friends call me Leo or Lenny sometimes - but you know, I just started watching this awesome TV show called "The Big Bang Theory" where there is a really smart guy named Leonard who is dating a REALLY pretty girl named Penny! So see - there IS hope for the guys of the world named Leonard to find true love!
I came to Waggs & Wishes when my owner dropped me off at the original Waggs & Wishes Animal Shelter in Ferndale when they no longer wanted to care for me. It was a really sad day for me, and I went through quite a long stage of depression at the shelter where I was just mad at the whole world and really scared at the same time. The kind volunteers at Waggs & Wishes Animal Rescue took there time with me, and as I started getting a chance to exercise in the yard at the new shelter, I'm getting better at living my new life.
I really, really, really hate my kennel. I crave the love and attention of my very own family. I love going for long walks and I'll lead you all over the place as we romp around your neighborhood. I give awesome doggy kisses - Aunt Angie say's my kisses are like me saying: "Thanks, I’m realy loving this!” I might not be a pup, but I have young soul! I’d love to play with mild-mannered children, and dogs who aren’t much bigger than me (I like to bark at & bully the big pit bulls!) If you give me a little exercise, the lap-dog in me kicks in and it’s cuddle time! Stop in to meet me… maybe we can go for a walk, then maybe we can go home!
