My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kris - 2 year old female Shepherd mix. Kris is the last one left of a group of four foster “sisters.” It’s not her fault that she was left behind as the others gradually were adopted; it’s just that Krissy needs a better-than-average home, one with someone who can provide the stability and firmness and unconditional love needed by a dog who never got any of them. Kris was dumped at a high-kill shelter after having spent her puppyhood as an abused backyard dog. Like many dogs with this background, she was not merely untrained, but very fearful and excitable. She’s now housebroken and crate-trained, and obedience training has given her more self-confidence and self-control. But she remains an energetic, emotional girl who responds best to the “calm-assertive” techniques taught by Cesar Millan, the “Dog Whisperer.” Most important, Krissy is a very affectionate dog who craves love. She especially likes kids, and although she’s too impulsive for little ones, she’d be a great choice for a family whose pre-teen wants a devoted companion. Kris is a naturally slender girl who weighs 54 pounds.
