My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a sweet, goofy, happy go lucky young guy to make your life complete? Well here he is -- meet Bogie! This 6 month old smooth coated kiddo is just the cat’s meow. Well adjusted, willing, and full of fun, cutie pie Bogie is a total winner!

Hard to believe, but Bogie came to WBCR from a Colorado shelter where he had been returned landed TWICE already in his short life. The last time he was only with the family for 3 weeks before being returned because he was showing signs of allergies. Regardless, this forgiving fellow is not holding any grudges, and rolled right into his new foster home with a smile and a twinkle in his eyes! At just 6 months old, Bogie is a full fledged lover of all life. He loves every human he meets, and happily flops into the laps of total strangers in the hopes it will mean belly rubs. He’s equally outgoing with new dogs, and gets along well with canines of all kinds. He’s very playful with his doggy friends and would probably love a doggy sibling in his forever home. Agreeable Bogie also gets along just fine with cats. We’ve got a hunch he’d do great with kids, but he does still have a bit of puppy mouthyness, so older kids only would probably be best for Bogie. He doesn’t show much herding instinct yet but he IS starting to take to toys – especially the infamous “duck toy” in his foster home! Bogie is shaping up to be a lovely moderate energy boy who will need a reasonable amount of exercise daily to be happiest.

Bogie is a bright and sensitive youngster, and although he arrived into rescue without many skills, he is making up for lost time! He’s now cratetrained, nearly housetrained, and has mastered a few of the basics. O course, Bogie is still just a puppy and will need verything a puppy needs: continued socialization, lots of training, and adopters who have the time and energy to raise a young one right. As mentioned, Bogie arrived into rescue with some sort of skin issues – he currently has some hair loss on his sides - which we are working to get to the bottom of; he will be seeing a veterinary dermatologist in the near future, and we’ll post more on that as we learn more.

All in all, if you are looking for a pup with a wonderful nature, Bogie is IT! This boy with the big brown eyes is sure to be a most delightful canine companion, and is suitable to a wide variety of homes. If you have the time to devote to raising a pup, and love the thought of a playful little tyke who also loves to cuddle – Bogie may be the one for you!

Bogie is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and living in a loving foster home near Loveland, CO
