Clyde was found roaming by the railroad tracks with his senior canine buddy. The Animal control Officer for the Plainfield Area Humane Society's (PAHS) successfully corralled them and placed them in the shelter on Rock Avenue. Sadly, Clyde's friend was so ill, after a tumor burst, she died on her way to the veterinarian. Suddenly alone and in an unfamiliar place, Clyde was sad and frightened. A good Samaritan visiting the shelter recognized the despair in Clyde's eyes and called Rawhide to see if we could help. Within minutes Clyde's plight was broadcasted to our volunteers and offers of help came flooding in. A couple of phone calls later Rawhide was on the way to meet this special senior. Already a favorite at the shelter, Clyde proved to be friendly and gentle. After some minor paperwork, he was climbing into the Rawhide van (with some help) and on his way to becoming a Rawhide Dog. He is now in the caring hands of his foster mom, Kathy (shown in the picture below with Clyde.) His next stop is with Dr. Donna Greybek in Warren where he'll get a couple of ugly sores attended to. Clyde is adjusting wonderfully in his foster home, surrounded by other, much smaller, seniors. Their eyes were big in wonder when they saw this tall but thin boy enter their home. Everyone is now settled in, happily living together. We are hoping that someone will want to adopt our charming old boy. Perhaps a family who already has a dog and wants a kind and gentle giant for them to cuddle with would like to consider this fella, or a family who has a little extra love to spare and care to give. He doesn't ask for much, but whatever you give him in love and attention he will return back to you tenfold.
