Hello, I'm Miss Emma. I'm said to act very prim and proper, so this name fits me well. I am 5-6 years old and in great health. I am housetrained but don't like to walk on a leash (I am working on that). My previous owner was a nice elderly gentleman who took good care of me. When he got sick, however, my care got VERY bad, and after my owner passed away, his family took me and my son, Trevor, to a kill shelter. Fortunately, Ratbone Rescues found us and saved us. I was very shy and would growl a lot when I first moved in with my foster family. I almost never left my kennel and didn’t want to be petted or loved on. Now that I’ve been here a while, I see that people can be very nice and sitting on a lap is the BEST thing ever! I’m still slow to warm up to people, but once I get to know you I’ll follow you everywhere. I play well with the other dogs here, but I think I'd prefer to live as an only dog or maybe with just one more. I wouldn’t mind a cat as long as it wasn’t a frisky kitten. I don’t like small children much, because they move too fast and it scares me. I would love to find a quiet forever home with someone who is there most or all of the day so I can sit in their lap and give them tender kisses.


OUR ADOPTION FEE is $150 ($175 for puppies younger than 6 months; $200 for American Hairless Terriers).
