My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

One person's "good idea" - take a thin, hungry, pregnant dog and drop her off in the shelter parking lot the day before she is ready to give birth. Sweet Pea made her way under a home, the only shelter she could find, where gave birth to a litter of ten pups.

A Rescuer's version of a "good idea" - take this gorgeous two year old who obviously had never known a caring home, bring all ten of her puppies AND Sweet Pea home with our volunteers, give her plenty of food, water, love and a safe and happy place to nurse and wean her puppies. We like our idea better!

Sweet Pea has said goodbye to the last of her litter, they have all been adopted out and now it is her turn to shine in the sun. And what a gem she is! Once you get past her amazing, soulful eyes, you'll notice her thick beautiful fur (she is quite the looker now that she has put a few pounds on)! She is respectful of cats, and good with children. She loves to be close to her people, in case anyone has an extra hand that wants to do some patting, or a stray kiss they want to send her way. She is good in the house, and gets along with other dogs nicely. In short, a perfect young lady! And at only two years old, she is past the puppy chewing stage, but still young enough to enjoy her entire life with the right family.

Check the events page on our website for more information and directions to our adoption events.
