My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We think Duke is the most handsome prince in the kingdom! He once was an ugly duckling after being found nearly starved to death. Duke was pulled as an emergency medical case from a high kill shelter in terrible condition. After lots of TLC, good food and excellent vet care, Duke has blossomed into a 19- lb brindle Prince Charming. The vet thinks he's about five years old.

Duke is heartworm positive, but, don't let that stop you from falling in love with him. He is on the "slow kill" method of heartworm treatment. This involves giving heartworm prevention pills and after a couple of years, he will be heartworm free. We will be glad to give you more detailed information about this treatment.

Duke is a little shy at first, but once he knows you love him- he wants to be with his family all the time. He likes to play with his human. He enjoys tug of war and playing ball. He hasn't learned to play with his foster siblings yet. Duke has been around cats and likes to chase, but does not bite. He is crate and potty trained.

Let Duke be your Prince Charming and call to talk to his foster Mama, Anita at 843-530-8875. His adoption fee is $275.00. If you would like to adopt Duke, go to bostonrescueofsc.org and fill out an online application.
