My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Originally, Charles was one of four dogs who were surrendered to BARK when their owners found themselves homeless, and couldn't care for their own dogs anymore. Sadly, they needed to surrender their dogs and we promised that we would find good homes for their babies. Charles and sister Xanadu were at BARK for a while before being adopted into a new loving, and caring home. But, once again, these two dogs have found themselves without a home or family, as their new adoptive family have fallen on hard times as well. As unfortunate as these circumstances are for their owners, it is also very sad for Xanadu and Charles who again have lost their homes and the people that loved them. In three years they have been displaced two times, and so we are hoping that we can soon find them new, loving and what we would hope to have for them, permanent homes! Charles is a small retriever mix, who is black and tan. He is just medium sized at about 40 pounds or so. Charles and Xanadu are nice together and would probably be fine with another dog in a home. Charles is shy and Xanadu is more outgoing.
