Meet Heidi, a beautiful German Shepherd girl in search of the perfect forever home. She is a favorite in her foster home, she just an absolutely wonderful dog. She is an older dog, we estimate her age to be about 8 years old. She's had a very rough life and deserves a home where she will be spoiled rotten.
If you are looking for a guard dog, she is not for you. If you are looking for a loving family companion then she just might be the right dog for you. She is gentle with children and has been around horses without a problem. She LOVES to go for rides in the car too.
Heidi is a smaller German Shepherd, she weighs just over 50 pounds. She has been spayed and is up to date on all vaccinations. She recently got her three year rabies vaccination so she won't need a booster on that until 2014.

She will only be adopted to a home that wants her to be an inside dog. She is housebroken and bonds very strongly to her person. She is protective but gentle, not agressive. She would do best in a home as an only dog or with perhaps one other dog. She does have a tendency to be dominant with other female dogs so would probably be best in a home without other female dogs.
Please research the breed(s) before filling out an application. Please apply only if you are willing to invest the time, effort, and energy that this sweet little girl needs.
Out of state adoptions are welcome. Please note: if you are interested in adopting Heidi and are not in our area, you must be prepared to provide transportation for her. We do not ship our dogs, adopters must be able to pick them up or meet within a reasonable distance of the rescue. Thanks for understanding!
