Chelsea is not taking to the toddlers in the home using her as a jungle gym and has started to growl at them. Her owner’s have decided it would be better to rehome her before the kids hurt her or she hurts them by accident.

Chelsea is a pretty girl even though she is a little over weight right now. She should eat a better quality food, adjust to fixed feeding times and get more exercise to help her drop about 10-15lbs. Chelsea is a unique mix, she looks like a mini Newfie and has black and tan markings like a Rottweiler but she is the perfect size of a Lab (she’s a little taller than a coffee table)! Her coat is black but looks deep brown right now due to the sun, it grows in thick like a Newfie coat, she has been clipped for the summer. Chelsea is good with other dogs, cats and respectful older children. Her previous owner’s noted that she has been less tolerant with the current toddlers in the home and has been growling when they jump, pull and play on her…go figure…, she has been perfectly fine with the 4yr olds in the home. The older young kids in the home (4yr olds) can take food and toys from Chelsea and are able to gently give her treats as well as take her food/food bowl from her. We feel Chelsea would be happiest in a home with no small kids around full time and children 6yrs+ would be more ideal. She is fully house trained and does not use a crate. Chelsea is clean, quiet and comfortable being left alone for typical 9-5work hours, she is used to having free roam of her home. She likes to sleep in a bedroom on her mat at night, she loves car rides and just hanging out in general where ever there are people around. Chelsea is a little stubborn at times but over all she is easy going, low maintenance and loyal. She loves to just be around people, she isn’t overly needy but enjoys just being part of whatever is going on. She loves a good walk each day and once bonded with her new family she would likely be perfectly fine at an off leash park. Chelsea would be great as a second dog or on her own. She’d love to find a more mature family that can pay lots of attention to her, love her to bits, take her for lots of walks and car rides and just make her a loved family member. She is perfect if you want to be outdoorsy or come in side and hang out by the tv. Chelsea needs a house with a fenced yard – no apartments/condos.
